We Love And Do More Than Four Years

Clean Water

About Us

Navikarana Trust was founded in the year 2018 by a deeply compassionate group of fellows from the founding batch of The Naropa Fellowship. During their year in Ladakh, they travelled extensively to witness the effects of climate change first hand.

The empathy they felt for the challenges being faced by communities at the forefront of climate change, became the foundation stone for the organization that would be registered as a trust in January of 2020. The organization is currently based out of Mandi in Himachal Pradesh. Currently it is a completely voluntary run organization with limited administrational overheads taken care by the co-founders.

Our Team

Sushant Guleria

Chairman

Sushant Guleria also known as Sushi by his inner mates, has always been fascinated by how nature works in making human life easier! Hailing from Mandi in Himachal Pradesh, Sushant has been in the lap of nature since childhood and has closely seen and experienced the effects of global warming and other climatic changes that has changed the facade of, the once Heaven on Earth, the Himalayan region. At the right age Sushant went ahead to pursue his B.E. in Production Engineering from B.V.M. Engineering College (Sardar Patel University) in Anand, Gujarat. Post Engineering, he worked with Larsen & Toubro for two and a half years, before deciding to garner more education in Industrial Design from PEC University of Technology, Chandigarh. Sushant has always been excited and inquisitive about the beauty of technology meeting with aesthetic design. He decided to take this fusion as his entrepreneurial endeavour by setting up Hill Top in 2015. Hill Top is Sushant’s vision towards creating a sustainable development model in the Himalayan region as it is the need of the hour to save the nature that works so efficiently for us, the humans. His mission is to create an environment that is self-sustainable and economical for the populace, using the natural resources that nature has to offer us. Sushant’s engineering knowledge and his acumen as an industrial designer are making wonders in making technology join hands with aesthetic agronomical design in the most efficient, economical and environmentally positive manner. His efforts towards making people adapt to a sustainable way of living are benefitting the human race and mother nature simultaneously.

Nishit Sangomla has a bachelor’s in chemical engineering from NIT Trichy. He started his career working with Reliance Industries limited as a safety engineer and then shifted to the development sector. Over the last seven years, he has worked extensively with craftspeople from Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Ladakh and Gujarat, through renowned organizations and entrepreneurial ventures. In 2020, he co-founded another organization – Navikarana Trust that works with the communities at the forefront of climate change in the Himalayan region by providing them with access to water and resources.
Nishit strongly believes that the true changemakers for society come from within the communities, External agents of change as such I must just act as a catalyst to positive change. Somaiya KalaVidya’s and Navikarana’s vision and mission align with this thought and form the foundation for building a much better and more inclusive society.
